Treatments in the eye area may cause dry eyes or excessive tearing, and there may be temporary muscle weakness near the injection area. More serious but less common effects could include difficulty swallowing, especially with neck injections, and difficulty speaking or hoarseness, typically with high doses. Very rare side effects could involve breathing difficulties, particularly in those with preexisting conditions, and allergic reactions like rash, itching, or dizziness. Finally, some patients might experience mild nausea that resolves quickly. Most side effects are mild and temporary typically resolving within a few days to a couple of weeks. Serious complications are very rare especially when performed by an experienced injector.
